Oversee and direct our Client’s Power Distribution Consulting Engineering Practice in North America. The successful candidate will be recognized as a thought leader in electric distribution with direct responsibility for the electric utility vertical and ensure steady profitable growth and quality services, while delivering value to the customer by building market focused offerings, driving solutions to clients and providing the leadership to build out the Practice.  This role is central to maintaining and growing relationships with key customer stakeholders. 

Provides leadership and direction to managers and their teams and ensures all projects meet their cost, quality and timing metrics and will create business plans and identify investments needed to support and grow the business. This role interfaces with the customer at multiple levels, including the executive level. Success in this role requires proven technical expertise, combined with business acumen and consulting methods, to deliver technical and business solutions that improve productivity and lower overall engagement costs. 

Responsibilities:

• Develop, Implement and manage a mid to long term strategic plan for the Practice and make regular adjustments to adapt to changing market conditions and latest technology
• Support Managers to drive collaboration with Business Development and Delivery Operations to develop optimal solutions, while adhering to the company’s Business Acquisition Process and Service Management Framework
• Support business development activities to achieve growth including creating and presenting capabilities and solutions, proposal development and contracts management
• Build strategic relationships with key client executives, maintain a high level of client confidence in the company operations and project execution and establish credibility with new potential customers
• Provide direction and innovation in service and/or process improvement, cost reduction and recommendations for business process optimization and profit improvement
• Build the organization and oversee teams at multiple company locations to ensure consistency of services, compliance with customer processes and standards, and responsiveness to both customer and employee requirements
• Oversee the development and implementation of employee Individual Development Plans, assist individual development and growth; overall responsibility for talent management involving all hiring and termination decisions
• Ensure compliance with client’s training and policy requirements
• Direct the quality management activities to ensure consistent quality methods and systems are deployed and executed throughout the Practice
• Maintain, monitor and manage operational budgets for facilities, training, infrastructure and Practice operations

Qualifications:

• BSEE, BSME, BSCE or similar, required; an advanced degree, MSEE, preferred
• Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
• 15+ years of electric utility industry experience with 7+ years in Leadership / Management roles
• Engineering background in the utility sector, preferably with a consulting engineering firm, leading all aspects of utility grade Power Distribution Projects
• Accomplished at nurturing new relationships and maintaining credibility with senior electric utility industry executives
• Excellent consultative skills to develop and provide business solutions to build and grow a business
• Strategic thinking and ability to convert a vision into a working plan
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work with a highly experienced staff
• Ability to operate in a high-growth, rapidly changing environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• High level of personal character and integrity
• Team player with ability to work in a highly cross-functional and virtual environment
• About 30% travel
