Assist the development and conduct bulk power system production cost simulations, economic analysis, and resource adequacy studies in compliance with reporting requirements associated with national, regional and local reliability criteria and standards; regional system plan development responsibilities; and Open-Access Transmission Tariff (OATT) requirements. Senior Level opportunities available for candidates who materially meet qualifications, but do not possess the minimum industry experience


• Design, develop and manage needed data sets, files or databases for conducting economic and resource adequacy studies
• Work with Company Staff or Consultants to conduct various analyses and subsequently prepare written reports detailing the objectives, assumptions, methods, findings and recommendations
• Collaborate and coordinate with Market Participants, NEPOOL and ISO Committees, regulatory and other stakeholders
• Respond to data or information requests from regional/national reliability organizations and state and federal regulators
• Perform all work according to corporate process, procedures and Tariffs, and consistent with corporate quality and business standards


• BSEE, power systems option, required; an advanced degree, MSEE is a plus
• 4-6+ years of electric utility industry experience, with significant background in bulk electric system planning or operations
• Knowledge of the New England generation and transmission system, including planning practices and real-time operational issues
• Working knowledge of the Northeast Power Coordinating Council, NPCC and North American Electric Reliability Corporation NERC Criteria, Procedures and Guidelines
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, work in a rapidly changing environment, meet deadlines, finish projects through to completion and work effectively with a wide range of engineers, economists, analysts and other stakeholders
• Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and organizational skills


• Working knowledge of bulk power system/resource adequacy transmission constrained economic generation production simulation techniques and bulk power system loss of load calculation techniques and methodologies
