Take an active role in corporate transmission expansion planning performing a variety of power flow, system planning, dynamic analyses, interconnection and engineering economic studies.

 

Responsibilities:
Power Transmission System Planning including, the development, preparation and implementation of transmission power flow, short circuit and reliability studies, dynamic analyses, and generation interconnection and sub-transmission studies, using a variety of simulation models to determine and recommend solutions to senior management. Considerable interaction with ISO-New England, Generation Developers, Distribution Companies and all other functional areas within the Transmission Business Unit. This position will involve studies and provide or support expert testimony with the PUC, FERC and other regulatory agencies.

 

Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, BSEE, power system option and 8+ years experience performing power system studies is required
• MSEE and or PE License is preferred
• Extensive hands-on simulation modeling and loadflow experience using PSS/E
• Proficient user of production cost modeling applications such as PowerWorld, Promod, or Gridview
• System planning experience using ISO / RTO methodologies preferred
• Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills

 

Desired Qualifications:
Wholesale electricity markets experience, including resource adequacy, ISO-NE involvement and experience in engineering economics, asset management, transmission congestion, FTRs, pricing and testimony.
